I’ve seen this picture everywhere and I really don’t understand it. Did nobody think that maybe putting crap on their face and putting on tacky warbonnet-esque knockoffs and sitting in a bathtub looked so incredibly ridiculous that maybe it was a bad idea?
And it’s actually pretty cool. I feel if I were to pick any particular belief system this would be the one I would go with. I like go think that i am pretty open minded about religion which is why i consider myself agnostic. I like this particular belief system though because unlike most religions, American Indians focus on the whole creation and not just the creation of human beings and how we are “the most important beings on earth”. They still believe in one creator and that not only should humans respect each other but respect the earth too as well as its many inhabitants.
there are more native american tribes than you can count on all of your body parts; they do not believe the same thing. whatever you read was probably written by a white person who saw a teepee and felt moved, googled some shit, and made their own website, sad to say.
