Anonymous asked: the last anon's question about a dreamcatcher tattoo raised the only issue i have with accusing people of cultural appropriation. my friend's (white, raised jewish) mother has identified with native american culture for my friend's whole life. she went to powwows, kept artifacts around the house, etc. if she gets a dreamcatcher tattoo in memory of her mother, is it racist? i tend to think it's not. these issues aren't cut and dry.
